Uncomfortably Waiting

Adjusted Attitude. There is unending freedom when our attitude shifts from victim to optimist. Yes, the economy IS tough, BUT we are not hopeless. I have yet to experience a day that I did not have my needs met. Sure, things are beyond tight. but my needs have ALWAYS been met. This has been a huge breakdown for my pride…there’s nothing glamorous about living with family in Western culture, saying “no” to going out with friends, not being able to keep up with the latest fashion trends… As my pride has been beaten down, my attitude has shifted from spoiled entitled empowered woman to something more akin to  gentle thankful sojourner.

Matthew 6:26-29 Jesus says, “Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?[g]28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”

We have every reason to be optimistic knowing, waiting and anticipating God to provide for our needs. Our faith grows as we WAIT UNCOMFORTABLY for provision and our needs ARE met. God is always on-time; the wringing of my hands will do nothing to speed His timing.

Heart Check: What does your attitude toward your circumstances (which could be great) broadcast about you?
